COVER REVEAL: The Expat Wife
Promotion begins for my psychological thriller. Plus: updates on Harry & Meghan Volume 3
Welcome to EIAM’s new subscribers! I’m excited to connect with fellow royal watchers who have an interest in reading about all of them, and are comfortable casting a critical eye on the institution.
Ever since Queen Elizabeth II died in September, everything about this fractured family has gotten messier, more dramatic, and sadder in many ways.
I’m hard at work on Harry & Meghan: Volume 3, which comes out this summer (release date TBA), but I’m here today to begin promoting my forthcoming psychological thriller, a suspenseful mystery inspired by my time as an expat living in Switzerland. (You can follow me on Amazon to get all the most up-to-date info on forthcoming book releases).
Mysteries are my first love, both to read and write, so in addition to my time spent covering celebrities, crime, and royalty, I’ve been working on thriller and mystery novels.
Without further ado, here is a peek at the cover for THE EXPAT WIFE, out July 11, 2023:
Free Review Copies for Mystery Fans
If you like suspense, snow, creepy folklore, whodunnits and Swiss cheese fondue, you might love THE EXPAT WIFE.
I know there won’t be 100%—or maybe not even 50%—crossover appeal between readers of the Sussex-related non-fiction books I write and mystery/thriller/suspense novels, but for those who love both, I will be offering advanced reader eBook copies (ARCs) of THE EXPAT WIFE.
Shoot me an email if you’d like one. You’ll have to sign up for a (FREE) account on Book Sirens to get the eBook. The goal is to attract as many honest reviews as possible as the launch approaches, and I always hope you’ll leave a star rating or a review, but it’s never required. If you miss the ARC window, you can also preorder the paperback and ebook at Barnes & Noble, the ebook at Kobo and the paperback at Amazon.
Harry & Meghan: Volume 3 is in the works!
In late in 2022, I had an unnerving thought: with all the content coming out from Harry and Meghan, what can I possibly add?
Oooh, whee. It’s not going to be a problem.
Am I the only one who feels like everything’s changing so fast it’s almost impossible to keep up? There’s a lot to talk about in the coming months. I’m already seeing ructions within the Sussex Squad (some of you might be squaddies, and most others are probably aware this is a fandom on social media that rallies around Meghan and Harry to fend off attacks on them and their children) about the coronation.
One Squaddie on Twitter, for example, has drawn a barrage of attention for his announcement that he’ll leave the fandom if Harry and Meghan attend the coronation of King Charles III. This mirrors what happened last year with the Platinum Jubilee—now-former fans of the Sussexes were angry that this couple, so intent on fighting for social justice, would voluntarily slide back into the belly of the beast they’ve spoken out about so strongly.
This is hotly debated on social media, but it certainly seems the exiting Squaddies will be a trickle rather than a tsunami—if the Sussexes even go. My vote? I wouldn’t dream of predicting. You never, ever know with them, because they have successfully plugged leaks coming out of their camp since leaving the UK.
Anyway, I’m off to work on Vol. 3. Contrary to some rather amusing Twitter conspiracy theories (and some on Goodreads and Amazon, too), I am not a Sussex in disguise, nor am I on their payroll. Or am I? Note to Archewell: My check is late! (I kid, I kid).
Tell me in the comments how you’re feeling about the coronation, Princess Lilibet’s christening, Spare, or anything royal-related that’s getting you worked up right now. Have a great rest of the weekend!
